About Kúrsk

Kúrsk er borg í Mið-Rússlandi. Árið 2002 bjuggu þar um 400 þúsund manns. Fyrsta skráða heimildin um Kúrsk er frá árinu 1032. Kúrsk var fyrst nefnd sem einn af Severísku bæjunum af Ígor fursta í ritinu Sagan af herför Ígors. Svæðið er þekkt fyrir að vera ríkt af járni, en það er einnig ein af stærstu járnbrautarstöðvum Suðvestur-Rússlands. Allnokkrir háskólar eru í borginni, þar á meðal læknaskóli og tækniháskóli.
