About Indónesía
Indónesía er ríki í Suðaustur-Asíu, milli Indlandshafs og Kyrrahafs, sem samanstendur af 17.508 eyjum í Malajaeyjaklasanum. Stærstu eyjarnar eru Súmatra, Java og Súlavesí, en ríkið nær auk þess yfir hluta eyjanna Borneó og Nýju-Gíneu. Það er stærsta ríki heims sem telst til eyjaklasa og fjórða fjölmennasta ríki heims. Indónesía er jafnframt það ríki þar sem flestir múslimar búa. Indónesía er þó ekki íslamskt lýðveldi. Höfuðborg landsins er Djakarta. Landamæri þess liggja að Papúu-Nýju Gíneu, Austur-Tímor og Malasíu. Önnur nágrannaríki eru Singapúr, Filippseyjar, Ástralía og Andaman- og Níkóbareyjar sem tilheyra Indlandi.
