About Montserrat
Montserrat er breskt handanhafssvæði í Karíbahafi. Eyjan er hluti af Hléborðseyjum sem aftur eru hluti af Litlu-Antillaeyjum í Vestur-Indíum. Eyjan er um 16 km að lengd og 11 km að breidd með um 40 km strandlengju. Eyjan er stundum kölluð „Smaragðseyjan“, bæði vegna þess hve hún er gróin og vegna þess að margir fyrstu landnámsmennirnir komu frá Írlandi.
